Description
This shot was originally taken in 2006 along with my earlier Japanese Garden pieces but somehow never got submitted.
Interesting note: this and the other Japanese Garden work was shot on the same film as It's All Relative (Kodak HD 400) but was developed and scanned at a better facility. I wasn't pleased with the results of the first roll so I decided to match the brand of the film to the development process this time (Kodak to Kodak in this case) and specifically requested high resolution scans. The difference was astounding to say the least!
Given my experience, matching film to development process is something I should have known to do. But I suppose everyone is allowed a rookie-move every once in a while! It's certainly something I'll remember for the future though.
Some stats on the shot for those who are interested...
Camera: Pentax ZX-M
Lens: Pentax Asahi 28mm (prime) f/3.5
Film: Kodak HD (High Def) 400
Filter: Circular Polarizer at time of exposure and a gentle warming filter applied in post.
As for the exposure settings, I can't be quite sure as this shot didn't get noted. But from looking at it and remembering the conditions I can assume the following approximations:
Aperture: ~f/3.5
Shutter: ~1/30
